Martin Knechtel was external PhD student of the Chair of Automata Theory working at SAP Research Center Dresden from 2007 until 2010. He has been interested in Semantic Web technologies, especially in Description Logics in enterprise applications. His PhD thesis introduces access restrictions to and with Description Logic Web ontologies. It contains a "virtual private ontology" framework where subsets of a large ontology are provided to users with respect to their user role, or with respect to other criteria.
