I am a postdoctoral research assistant in the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science at Technical University of Dresden. I am working for the research group Chair for Automata Theory headed by Prof. Franz Baader.

Research:

My main research interests are:

• Knowledge representation with Description Logics (DLs),
• Conceptual data analysis with Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), and
• applications of them in ontologies and the Semantic Web.

In my PhD thesis I have worked on combining DLs and FCA, using methods from one field in the other, and extending one with the help of the other. Apart from these, I am interested in the computational complexity of some problems that occur in these fields.

Projects:

Currenly, I am working in the research project:

• Completing Description Logic Knowledge Bases using Formal Concept Analysis financed by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).

Previously I have worked in the following projects:

• TONES (Thinking ONtologiES), a FET project financed within the European Union 6th Framework Programme,
• Semantic Mining (Semantic Interoperability and Data Mining in Biomedicine), a Network of Excellence (NoE) project financed within the European Union 6th Framework Programme.

Activities:

• Program co-Chair of ICFCA 2010 - 8th International Conference on Formal Concept Analysis to be held in March 2010 in Agadir, Morocco.
