| Abstract: | ABSTRACT. ``Entanglement patterns'' are guiding a large number of declarative constructs contributing to the expressiveness of logic programming languages. The prototypical example is unification of logic variables that instantly connects present and future observations of their value, independently of their location in the data areas of the runtime system. At the same time, widely used software constructs like cloud-based synchronization of files or databases exhibit similar functionality. The paper overviews uses of this pattern in logic programming languages and proposes new ones, centered around ``interclausal logic variables'', an easy to implement Prolog extension that supports instant global information exchanges without dynamic database updates. |
