VSL 2014: VIENNA SUMMER OF LOGIC 2014

IPRA 2014 PROCEEDINGS: EDITOR'S PREFACE

Craig interpolation enjoys a continuing popularity in computer science. Historically, Craig's interpolation theorem has received ample attention in proof theory and mathematical logic as well as in complexity theory. Recently, interpolants are increasingly used in automated verification, program analysis, reactive synthesis, and description logics. The aim of the iPrA workshop is to bring together theoreticians and practitioners from these different fields.

We are delighted that this, the second iPrA workshop, has attracted a strong group of researchers, each bringing a different perspective on the challenge of Craig interpolation. This diversity is reflected in the 14 regular contributions of iPrA 2014, which include both theoretical and experimental results about versions of  Craig interpolation.

We are excited to have three distinguished invited speakers, Orna Grumberg (Technion, Israel), Pavel Pudlák (Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic) and Frank Wolter (University of Liverpool, UK). Our invited speakers have outstanding research expertise and insights into the challenges and opportunities for the growing iPrA community.

We would finally like to thank the VSL local organziers for their support and guidance, and Andrei Voronkov for his help on EasyChair.
